Ramadan, The Month of Blessings

Image
Ramadan,The Month of Blessings Peerzada Mohsin Shafi In the holy month of Ramadan, The blessed month that we cherish, We fast from dawn till dusk, To purify our soul and nourish. The Quran was revealed in this month, A source of guidance and light, We read and reflect on its verses, To strengthen our faith and insight. We break our fast with dates and water, And feast on delicious meals, But we also remember the less fortunate, And share with them our meals. Ramadan teaches us patience, And self-discipline as well, We learn to control our desires, And our hearts begin to swell. We perform Taraweeh prayers, And seek Allah's forgiveness and grace, We make dua for our loved ones, And for the whole human race. Ramadan brings us closer, To Allah and to each other, We feel the bonds of brotherhood, And we love one another. So let us embrace this blessed month, And strive to make the most of it, May Allah shower His blessings on us, And guide us on the path that is lit. 22-Mar-2023

Amalgam

Image
Amalgam  Peerzada Mohsin Shafi Sorrow and joy, they come and go, Like tides that ebb and flow,  One moment we're on top of the world, The next we're crushed and curled. Employment and unemployment, They too are fickle friends,  One day we have a job to do, The next we search for ends. Sadness, it too is ever-present, A shadow that follows us through life,  A reminder that not all is perfect, That sometimes we'll feel strife. Kashmir, a land of beauty and pain, A place where hope and despair remain,  A promise unfulfilled, a dream unattained, A land that knows both love and disdain. Exploitation, a word so cruel, A reminder of the power games we play,  Of how the weak are often used, And how justice is led astray. So let us remember these things, The sorrow, joy, and all that life brings,  And let us work towards a better world, Where love and justice are unfurled. 20-Mar-2023 9:22 AM

Hard-work

Image
Hardwork- No Pain No Gain Peerzada Mohsin Shafi In the world of nature, there's a law A law of hard work, without a flaw For every living creature, big or small This law applies, it governs us all The ant crawls with its tiny feet Carrying food, it's a mighty feat The bee buzzes, gathering nectar sweet Its tireless work, a wonder to meet The tree stands tall, its roots so deep Providing shade and fruits to reap It toils each day, never to sleep Nature's law, it does surely keep The eagle soars high up in the sky Its keen eyes searching, never to shy It hunts for food, its task so sly Nature's law, it does comply From the tiniest insect to the largest whale Nature's law of hard work does prevail Each has its task, no time to fail For in nature's law, there's no detail too frail So let us learn from nature's way And work hard each and every day For with hard work, we'll find our way And live a life that will surely stay. 14-Mar-2023

Homesick

Image
Homesick   Peerzada Mohsin Shafi As I leave my home, my heart begins to ache, For in my cozy haven, I did not want to forsake. But the call of duty, it beckoned me away, And so I must go, without much delay. The roads feel longer, the world seems colder, As I venture out, with a heavy heart, much bolder. The familiar warmth of home, it's now far away, And I feel so homesick, with every step I take. The hustle and bustle of the city, it overwhelms me, As I struggle to find my place, amidst the cacophony. The laughter and joy of my loved ones, I miss them so, As I trudge on, with a heart that's feeling low. But as I step into my workplace, a change takes hold, For the familiarity of my colleagues, it makes me bold. Their warmth and kindness, it brings me some solace, As I try to find my footing, amidst the office's hustle. The day goes on, with its usual highs and lows, But amidst it all, I find myself beginning to compose, A sense of purpose, a drive to succeed, As I remind ...
